RE/MAX The Unfair Advantage

Social media, texting, Facebook, Google, and Twitter...what does that have to do with Real Estate and making a livin'?  Well, I do love a good contest and RE/Max has set the gauntlet.  One of the things I can do to win points is to Blog...tell the world ... share my story,  so here we are...

I have been at RE/Max All Stars since September 9th, 1989.  I met with the Broker/Owner of this new company over lunch at Black Angus.  Having "practiced" Real Estate with Great Western Real Estate for just over one year and earning the Title "Rookie of the Year" I was told that I was not ready for Re/max.  I am really glad that Tom took a chance on me and I am still there, even after Tom sold the company to my current broker Brett Meckas.  Tom Whitman was at Great Western in Norco too before he took the leap and started RE/Max All Stars.  At that time most of the agents were former Great Westerners, and so I watched as the migration began.  One week with a new manager at GW was all it took for me, and I packed up my "files" and made the change.

GW was such a fun place to begin my career.   I listed my little brothers house the first day on the job!  The GW folks had this contest going on, and my office already qualified to win, all I had to do to participate was to take ONE listing!  Walla!  An all expense paid long weekend at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas PLUS $50 in chips to play with.  I was hooked!  What a great career... and I was only there for 2 weeks!

I tried to Google Great Western Real Estate for a picture, but that was before the www... but I can say it was a subsidiary of Great Western Bank, which turned into Washington Mutual, which turned into....

Stay tuned...  22 years is a long time.  More adventures to come!
